Self Audit Tool / Self Screening Tool
Should I go to work or stay at home?
Conscientious employees like to be available to help their employer, their team and their customers which can tempt them to show their devotion by going to work and fighting through the day when they feel unwell. However this is not necessarily the right thing to do for your organisation. Staying at home not only reduces the risk of infecting your co-workers and customers, but you also allow yourself time to rest, convalesce and recover fully which ultimately speeds up your return to full productivity and reduces the risk of prolonged periods of ill health.
However sometimes you are well enough to go to work and the risk of you infecting others is minimal. If you take unnecessary time off of work you might increase the work load of your colleagues or for yourself when you return. This can lead to stressful situations which themselves are not healthy. That’s why the decision on whether or not to go to work can be a difficult one. If you are unsure of the right thing to do you can use this self audit tool to assess your situation and help you decide.
